Step1: Launch a new browser tab or window

Step2: Type https://www.whatsapp.com/download/ in the URL

Step 3: Click on Download FOR Windows (Figure 1) to download the setup file for Windows. A login screen would appear on the desktop

Open WhatsApp on your phone and hit the three dots on the right screen. Then move to the WhatsApp web option which will launch a scanner.

Limitations

While the video calling feature on the desktop app is a welcome development it still has some limitations. To start with group calls is not supported at this moment. This is a major drawback as people are always looking to connect with families or friends in a group. Also the desktop Windows App currently it does not offer support for virtual video or video devices.
