Meta and Ray-Ban Launch First AI Smart Glasses for Prescription Wearers

Meta has taken a giant leap forward in the wearable technology arena with the launch of its first AI-powered smart glasses designed with prescription lens wearers in mind. The first two smart glasses, Blayzer Optics and Scriber Optics, which were created with the optical industry leader EssilorLuxottica, are both second-generation smart glasses created by Meta, with a particular emphasis on prescription lens wearers.
A New Era of Comfort and Fit
Previous versions of the popular Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses allowed the prescription lenses to be fitted, but comfort and aesthetics with prescription lens wearers were not a major factor. Having a flexible hinge system to decrease the pressure on the side, replaceable nose bridges to fit other facial forms, and removable temple arm pieces that can be changed by licensed opticians, these are the most comfortable smart glasses Meta has ever created.
Style Meets Functionality

The Blayzer is modern and has a rectangular shape in two sizes, and the Scriber is soft with a rounded appearance. In this manner, buyers obtain an authentic feel of style without a one size fits all style. The two wearables are currently available in the United States at a price starting at 499. Optical stores and other countries will start to have it physically as early as April 14.
Smarter Than Ever – AI Features That Change Daily Life
There is a variety of new AI software capabilities with this launch. The users are now able to log their food using a voice command or a simple snap, which will automatically be analyzed by Meta AI for nutritional content. The feature of WhatsApp integration has also been enhanced, and now users can easily summarize and recollect the messages. It also has the experimental feature of Neutral Handwriting that lets the user write messages by tracing the characters on any surface with the help of a fingertip.
In 2025, Meta shipped more than seven million pairs of smart glasses alone. CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s vision of AI glasses becoming everyday eyewear has never felt closer to reality.
