The company, OpenAI, which developed ChatGPT, is changing big. It is currently targeting more business users than everyday users. The reason? An increasing threat from the competing AI firm Anthropic.

From Everyday Users to Big Companies

The majority of ChatGPT users do not subscribe to the application. About 95% of OpenAI’s 900 million weekly users get the chatbot for free. There are a lot of people, but it is a lot of money, as well. To cover such costs, OpenAI would like to have more paying business customers. In 2024, the proportion of business customers in OpenAI was only 20%. Now that number has grown to 40% and could reach half of all sales by the end of the year.

An Intelligent AI Model for the Workplace

OpenAI is developing new tools. That tool will be specifically designed to fit the workplace. It is set to launch a new AI model targeted at high-value professional work. In addition to this. The company introduced a model named GPT-Rosalind. It is specifically designed to help in biology, medical discovery, and medical research. The leaders of OpenAI believe that companies are no longer interested in only testing AI. They think that businesses are no longer at the stage of doing experiments. They are implementing AI to perform actual tasks.

Anthropic Is Giving Tough Competition

OpenAI for Business

OpenAI is not alone in the race. There are many; one of them is Anthropic. It is the one that made Claude AI. Now Claude is used by many companies. Anthropic has established itself as a safer AI service provider. It recently launched new, powerful business models.

OpenAI responded to it by launching a new model. The model name is Spud. OpenAI claims that Spud is the smartest model to date. Spud is designed to give the most reliable result. The competition between business customers is increasing at a very frequent speed.  Both companies are fighting to the end.
