Reliance Jio has no doubt found its place in a majority of Indian households but Bharti Airtel is still leading in network speed. Airtel is one of the oldest and safest networks of Indian telecom industry. According to the new survey and report which analyzed around 7 billion measurements accumulated from 7 lakh cellular devices across India, Bharti Airtel has topped the speed charts in 3G and 4G network. However, Reliance JIO is challenging Airtel in 4G availability.

The report was conducted by OpenSignal, a leading Global Network Testing Service, and it said that Reliance Jio doesn’t provide the best speed but it has been successful in maintaining the overall cellular data experience and availability.

The report thoroughly examined India’s six leading operators including Bharti Airtel, Idea, Vodafone which operates on 4G and 3G networks and Reliance Jio which is only limited to a 4G network. Other two operators were BSNL and Reliance communications which operate only on 3G networks.

The main battle was between Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio. Jio has significantly improved its 4G download speed in the past couple of months, as it climbed from 3.9 Mbps to 5.8 Mbps which is a surprising increase. Meanwhile, the other operators saw a decline in speed including Airtel which fell from 11.5 to 9.1 Mbps (which is still higher than Jio).
The survey was basically conducted for Android and iOS users and covered the regions of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Haryana, etc. So Airtel grabbed the highest speed award and Idea and Vodafone locked the second place in the 4G download.  According to the reports, it can be concluded that while Airtel provides the best speed in 4G and 3G networks, it’s the Jio which scores high in availability and coverage and in providing a better user experience.
