Skoda, the leading Czech automobile manufacturer, is all set to launch its flagship vehicle Kodiaq SUV on October 4, 2017. The launch will surely establish the brand and would ensure a strong foothold in the Indian auto market. Skoda India has already launched its Octavia, Rapid Monte Carlo and Octavia RS which raised top on the charts of popularity. It is expected that the new model would go as high as 40 lakh in price and lower mark would be of 30 lakh. It will incite a good competition with other popular cars like Ford Endeavour or Toyota Fortuner. The company announced that it would be a seven seater SUV.



The interior will supposedly have an in-built Google earth application along with steering mount controls and automatic air conditioner. It will feature the Android Info’s latest infotainment and a smart screen arrangement. Exteriors would have projector head lamps with LED DRLs and panoramic sunroof along with side-body cladding and body colored roof. The front profile would feature Skoda’s own butterfly grille and would be equipped with LED headlights. The side profile of Kodiaq will have a projecting shoulder line running through the doors and would integrate with the rear fender with the boot.



The engine will be 2.0-liter diesel similar to Tiguan and would run at 147 bhp power at 300 nm Torque. The SUV will feature a six-speed gearbox and probably a 7 speed DSG auto transmission. The SUV is said to be based on the famous MQB platform of the group Volkswagen.

Kodiaq is said to have the largest cabin in its class, featuring an interior length of 1,793mm and with an elbow room of 1,527mm front and 1,510mm to the rear. The measurement for head room for those who are sitting in front would measure 1020mm while the rear would be 1014mm.
